The AN-H-15 helmet was introduced as the standard summer or light weight for the Army Air Force and Navy on April 23, 1943. It served as the replacement for the Type A-9 flying helmet. It was the first flying helmet designed under the joint Army/Navy procurement program.
Made of a tan khaki cotton material, this flight helmet is in excellent condition for its age! No rips or tears with full functioning chin strap. Features an Army Air Forces stamp. No rust or corrosion on the metal fittings. Marked as size LARGE. Originally had earphones at one stage, but since have been removed.
The helmet is unique in the fact that it comes with a 1000 hours flight pin attached to the left side of helmet.
Authentic helmet paired with 1943 Army Air Corps Leather Flying Dark Green Goggles also from World War II. The goggles do have damage on the right side only adding to the incredible piece of history. The date 1943 is clearly displayed inside the goggles.
Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
Glass mannequin head is disply only and not included.
