These popular prints were created by American photographer Morris Burke Parkinson (1847-1926) and were often sold in frames, sometimes produced by companies like the Ohio Art Company around 1912.

The prints depict a child dressed as Cupid, with the "Cupid Awake" print showing the child with a bow and arrow, and "Cupid Asleep" showing the child resting.

The child model for these photos was reportedly Josephine Anderson, and the original photographs were taken in 1897.

These prints were widely distributed and sold in stores such as Kresge's, Sears, and Woolworths in the early 20th century, making them a common piece of decorative art.
